Sweet was signed in July of 2018 as a free agent with the Seattle Mariners.  Sweet was a four-year starting pitcher at NCCU.  During his senior campaign in 2018, he set a new NCCU single-season strikeout record and tied his career season-high with five wins. Sweet was twice named MEAC Pitcher of the Week in 2018. Sweet is quickly moving through Mariners system as a long reliever.
